Dr. Sandra Hickman in the salt room during a BioLight Recalibration experience

BioLight Recalibration ~ Lasers in the Salt Room

Light. Salt. Stillness. A different kind of reset.

BioLight Recalibration: Lasers in the Salt Room is a signature wellness journey curated by Dr. Sandra Hickman. This sixty-minute restorative session harmonizes advanced light technology with the purifying atmosphere of the West Valley Wellness Center salt room.

It is a sensory integration designed to bring your system back into balance through gentle immersion.

Come experience what happens when light, salt, stillness, and guided intention meet in the same room.

How the Experience Unfolds

 Guided Unwinding

Sandra moves the professional handheld light instrument around the body in a deliberate sequence. The light is not simply held over one area. It is placed in different positions to encourage gentle unwinding and neutralization of discordant energetic patterns while participants relax in the salt room.

Individual Focus

Each participant places the handheld instrument over a specific area they would like to support. This may be an area of discomfort or tension, an area where rejuvenation or greater local circulation is desired, or simply a place where the participant feels additional light input may be beneficial.

 Salt, Stillness & Meditation

Throughout the experience, participants remain comfortably reclined in the salt room while Sandra guides meditation, focused intention, and the group experience. The combination of the light, quiet salt-room environment, and common intention of the group creates a very different experience from simply using a light device by yourself.

What Participants Often Notice

Those receiving the light often report feeling more relaxed, less tense, more grounded, or more aware of subtle changes in the area they chose to focus on.

Some describe sensations of warmth, ease, renewed energy, greater calm, or simply the feeling that their system has had an opportunity to settle and reset.

Individual experiences vary. BioLight Recalibration is a wellness experience and is not intended to diagnose or treat a medical condition.

The Light Frequencies

Red Light

Red light is commonly used in photobiomodulation and has been studied for its interaction with cellular activity and signaling. It is frequently explored in wellness and therapeutic settings for applications involving tissue support, recovery, skin health, inflammatory signaling, and general cellular function.

Infrared Light

Infrared and near-infrared wavelengths penetrate more deeply than visible red light. These wavelengths have been widely studied in photobiomodulation and therapeutic-light applications related to muscle and joint comfort, tissue recovery, relaxation, and temporary increases in local circulation.

Violet Light

Violet light uses shorter wavelengths within the visible-light spectrum. Research has explored violet wavelengths particularly for their photochemical properties and antimicrobial applications. Within BioLight Recalibration, violet is one of the available settings incorporated into the guided light experience rather than presented as a stand-alone medical treatment.

Scalar Setting

The professional device used during BioLight Recalibration also includes a scalar setting. Because claims surrounding scalar-wave therapies vary and the research base is less established than it is for red and infrared photobiomodulation, we describe this conservatively as one of the device’s available energetic/light-therapy settings incorporated into the overall guided experience.

Why the Salt Room Matters

While the light experience is taking place, you are reclining in the quiet halotherapy environment of West Valley Wellness Center.

Microscopic dry salt is gently dispersed into the air while you rest, creating an atmosphere centered on breathing, stillness, and relaxation.

Rather than treating light therapy, halotherapy, and meditation as separate experiences, BioLight Recalibration brings them together in one carefully paced session.

Light Therapy Safety

Light-based therapies may not be appropriate for everyone. Please contact Sandra before registering if you are pregnant, have a known sensitivity to light, take medications that increase light sensitivity, have an active implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker or defibrillator, have a history of cancer in the intended treatment area, or have an active wound, infection, or lesion where the light would be applied. Laser light should never be directed into the eyes, and protective eyewearis used when appropriate. Please also review the separate halotherapy contraindications provided by West Valley Wellness Center before registering.

Only Six Participants

Each BioLight Recalibration session is limited to six participants so the experience stays personal, unhurried, and intentionally guided.

The small group size gives Sandra time to guide the light-placement sequence, answer questions, and support each participant personally throughout the session.

You May Especially Enjoy This Experience If…

You are feeling overstimulated, depleted, physically tense, curious about light-based wellness, or simply ready to give yourself an hour to pause and reset.

No previous experience with meditation, light therapy, or halotherapy is necessary.

Come experience what happens when light, salt, stillness, and guided intention meet in the same room.

Senior Relaxation Reset

Guided relaxation thoughtfully designed for older adults — including participants in memory-care environments.

Relaxation Reset is more than a traditional meditation class. Dr. Sandra Hickman has developed a gentle, highly guided approach that emphasizes comfort, familiarity, sensory engagement, participation, and connection.

Sessions are chair-based and intentionally paced so participants do not need previous meditation experience, sustained concentration, or the ability to sit silently for long periods. Breathing, sound, familiar imagery, nature-based themes, simple sensory cues, repetition, and guided reflection help create an experience people can enter at their own level.

Sandra has completed Memory Care Training that meets Arizona HB 2764 requirements, preparing her to work appropriately within dementia and memory-care environments.

Designed for Older Adults

Gentle pacing, comfortable chair-based participation, familiar imagery, and clear guidance make the experience accessible even for people who have never meditated before.

Memory-Care Informed

Sandra’s HB 2764-compliant Memory Care Training gives her added preparation for working within dementia and memory-care settings, where communication, environment, pacing, and participant needs may be different.

Engagement & Connection

Sound, breathing, recurring imagery, sensory cues, conversation, and reflection create opportunities for participants to relax, engage, connect, and participate without pressure to perform.

Programs for Senior Communities

Relaxation Reset can be adapted for independent living, assisted living, memory care, senior wellness programs, and other organizations serving older adults. Sandra can work with staff to tailor pacing and presentation to the needs of the group.

Private & Customized Experiences

Create an experience for your group.

Sandra can create private or customized experiences for families, friend groups, work teams, senior communities, wellness organizations, retreats, and other small gatherings. Depending on the group and setting, an experience may be tailored around relaxation, recalibration, guided meditation, light-based wellness, sound, reflection, or another appropriate focus. Events can be offered at the group’s location or, when appropriate, in the West Valley Wellness Center salt room.
